Ruminate — Privacy Policy

Daily Scripture Reflection

Effective date: June 15, 2026

Ruminate is a local-first daily devotional and reflection app. This page explains what information the app collects (and what it doesn't), and how it is used.

Overview

Ruminate does not require you to create an account or sign in. You can use all of the app's core features — daily devotions, guided reflection, journaling, prayer, and audio — entirely offline, without providing any personal information.

Information We Collect

AI Reflection Feature

When you reach the "Reflect" step of a devotion, the app sends the day's Bible verse and the short devotional thought (text only — never your journal entries or any personal information) to our backend server. The backend forwards this text to an AI provider to generate a small set of reflection questions and an action step for that devotion.

Advertising

Ruminate shows banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID) to serve and measure ads. This data is handled by Google in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Data Storage & Security

All of your content — journal entries, reflection history, streaks, and preferences — is stored in a local database on your device only. There is no cloud account and no backup of this data by Ruminate. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted from your device.

Children's Privacy

Ruminate is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
